First Teeth4Tots Visit- Children's Dental Specialists
Today I took part in my first Teeth4Tots visit. If you are unfamiliar with Teeth 4Tots, it is a project I started in the 10th grade to help educate children in my community about the importance of oral hygiene. More information on this can be found under the Teeth 4Tots tab.
The location of my visit was Children’s Dental Specialist in Troy, MI. I made sure to take my note sheets and art pieces as per usual.
After settling down for a bit of time, I was finally greeted by Doctor Chatel, her sister, and her mother (all pediatric dentists). I asked many questions about why pediatric dentistry was the field they chose to study in depth. In fact, many of their responses were similar to mine. That is, to help children with oral health at a young age to help eliminate possible oral diseases that may generate in the future. I toured around the clinic for some time. In addition, I got to see x-rays scans of children and asked insightful questions.
This was the first Teeth 4Tots visit and I hope to continue this as we (local pediatric dentists & I) further educate our communities on the importance of oral hygiene in young children.
