Exciting Changes at Tiny Tots Health Initiative: A Simpler Way to Make an Impact

At Tiny Tots Health Initiative, we are always looking for ways to better support our volunteers, partners, and communities. Over the past several weeks, our Board of Directors has been working behind the scenes to redesign and reorganize our website to make it easier to navigate and to better reflect the direction of our organization.

As of June 30, we are excited to announce two major updates to how you can get involved with Tiny Tots.

1. State Lead Positions Have Been Retired

Effective June 30, we will no longer have State Lead positions within Tiny Tots Health Initiative.

Instead of requiring volunteers to hold an ongoing leadership role, we are moving toward a more flexible, project-based model that allows anyone to make an impact in their community.

If you are interested in organizing a community health literacy event or a school-based health literacy program, you can now apply directly for funding through our Mini Grant Program on our website. Whether you are planning a health education workshop, distributing Healthy Boxes, reading children's health books, or creating another innovative initiative, we encourage you to apply.

We also ask that you take photos during your event (with appropriate permissions) so we can celebrate your work by highlighting it across our website and social media channels. We love showcasing the incredible impact our volunteers are making across the country.

2. Introducing Compass Writers

We are also excited to continue expanding Compass Writers, Tiny Tots Health Initiative's student-led public health journal.

Compass Writers provides students with an opportunity to explore important public health topics, strengthen their science communication skills, and educate communities through accessible, evidence-based writing. Whether you're passionate about pediatric health, nutrition, mental health, disease prevention, or health equity, we invite you to become part of our growing team of writers.

We believe that improving health literacy starts with making reliable health information understandable and accessible to everyone.

Looking Ahead

These updates represent our commitment to making Tiny Tots Health Initiative more accessible, more collaborative, and more impactful. We hope these changes empower even more students and community members to lead meaningful health literacy initiatives wherever they are.

If you have any questions about these updates, need help navigating the new website, or would like to discuss an event idea, please visit our Contact page or schedule a meeting with a member of our team. We're always happy to help.

Thank you for being part of the Tiny Tots Health Initiative family. We can't wait to see the incredible work you'll accomplish next.
